Four Covid 19 Hospitals to be equipped by July in Delhi

The public works department in Delhi is likely to complete the construction of four Covid 19 hospitals in July. According to PWD, the four hospitals at Shalimar Bagh, Sultanpuri, Chacha Nehru Bal Chikitsalaya, and Guru Tegh Bahadur complex will be completed and equipped with ICU beds, and emergency, outpatient, and ward facilities. 

With the recent surge in the cases, the government has stepped up its efforts to complete the construction and budgets have been modified accordingly to allocate Rs 1,440 crore to construct, remodel existing buildings, upgrade and develop homeopathic facilities, and services. 

For, the past two years, the state government has been focusing on managing and controlling the pandemic by allocating considerable funds to fight it. The remodeling of 15 existing hospitals has also started and new plans are being prepared for additional four hospitals. Finance minister Manish Sisodia stated that once the new hospitals are ready, the total bed numbers will be increased by 16,000 in the capital.
